August Power Rankings

The sky is falling in Chicago.  The White Sox fell two places in the polls and the Cubs fell three places.  That's not surprising, considering they had the worst records during the month of July.  Arizona remained at the top, falling short of being the unanimous decision only because their modest owner didn't vote for his own team at the top, instead ruing the lack of run production at the end of the month.  Cleveland and Atlanta took advantage of other teams' poor showings in July to climb the most in the polls.

July Power Rankings

It seems the dust is settling.  Arizona was the unanimous choice for #1 on all nine ballots this month after going 21-6 in June.  Voting was at its all-time low, possibly due to All-Star voting occurring at the same time.  Cincinnati plummeted in the ranks after an 8-21 month, losing their last 11.  Other teams rising in the ranks after a great month were Oakland (20-9 in June) and the Chicago Cubs (16-12).

June Power Rankings

Arizona returned to the top of the power rankings this month.  In fact, the rankings look very similar to the pre-season rankings.  The big exceptions were Cleveland, up to #4 from a pre-season ranking of #10, and Milwaukee, down to a ranking of #13 from a pre-season rank of #8.  New York and St. Louis, by virtue of their poor records in May, took the biggest falls from last months rankings.

May Power Rankings

Although they got 10 of the 14 first place votes, the St. Louis Cardinals fell 3 points shy of garnering the top of the power rankings after one month of play.  There was major movement by a lot of teams, indicating that FJBL owners have no clue what they're talking about.  Baltimore is the only team to hold their position from the previous poll, getting 11 less points despite there being 3 more voters this time.

Pre-Season Power Rankings

In lackluster voting, Arizona has been deemed the best team in the FJBL.  Voting was definitely split as 7 of the 16 teams received first place votes.  St. Louis, the current leader in the standings after 2 weeks of play, had the odd distinction of 1 first place vote and one last place vote.  The next vote will be at the start of May.
